There was a lot of buzz at the 2023 PGA Merchandising show in Orlando, FL earlier this year. There are several new remote controlled electric caddies with cool features coming out in 2023. This is the year of the remote control GPS caddies. Motogolf.com had a chance to review the MGI Ai GPS+ model first hand and was very impressed with the new design and features! The Ai GPS+ has a one click Quickfold system which makes it very easy to fold and unfold the cart.
The display is very bright which allows golfers to see the screen clearly even in bright daylight. It has a bluetooth connection which allows text and emails to be displayed on the screen while you play.
The manual control now has 20 different speeds compared to 9 speeds available on the Zip Series models which make it easier to find the right speed for all golfers. The remote control handset has been redesigned to be more compact than the previous models and the stop button has been moved to the middle for easier navigation. It also comes equipped with an on/off button so you can turn off the handset.
The newly designed lithium battery is now located at the top (rather than the back on the zip series) between the two rear wheels for better weight distribution and has an on/off button so the battery does not drain while it's connected to the caddie. Screen also has a sleep mode so you can turn it off while you have a drink with your foursome after the round.
The Ai GPS+ also comes equipped with the parking brake so you can park on a hill. This may be the first remote control caddie on the market to incorporate this feature. Most of the remote control caddies on the market roll when parked on a hill unless you park it sideways.
Finally, the much anticipated GPS feature provides distances in yards or meters to front/middle/back of green and distances to all hazards. Very responsive touch screen display allows the golfer to find the exact yardage to any point on the hole by just touching the screen.
Overall, the MGI Ai GPS+ performed really well and it is sure to help golfers navigate the course with ease.
